About the Job
We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, recordings and general ledger to ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Bookkeeping, filling tax returns, researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements
- Assisting in preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from other departments.
- Maintaining and balancing an automated accounting system by inputting data; scheduling required tasks; and verifying data.
- Analyzing information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information.
- Maintaining and reconciling the Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger.
- Maintaining and reconciling the Lease and Right of Use Asset and liability subsidiary ledger
- Preparing general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, and reconciling accounts.
- Preparing accrual entries and maintains prepaid accounts.
- Developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes.
- Answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Reconciling bank accounts – cash/credit cards/loans.
- Preparing debit/credit memos – price corrections, sales tax adjustments.
- Preparing scheduling and filing sales tax returns.
- Providing information, data and assistance to external auditors.
About You
The ideal candidate has a "roll up your sleeves" mindset, thrives in a fast paced, high growth environment and has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or related field
- CPA (preferred)
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and can establish priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner and exercise discretion.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written required.
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as accounting software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of the organization.
