Health Benefits is seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement and Vendor Risk Management. The Company’s third-party risk management program has been established to respond to, and adhere to, new and existing regulatory guidelines and initiatives that will enable the organization to effectively assess and manage the risk introduced by engaging with third parties.
Preference will be given to candidates located near Lake Forest, Illinois location & able to work in a hybrid capacity of 2-days in the office and 3-days work from home.
Responsibilities Include:
The Senior Manager, Procurement and Vendor Risk Management will provide operational vendor procurement oversight, control and productivity management for the decentralized procurement and vendor management program.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assist with and lead aspects of the continued development and implementation of the third-party risk management governance model, operating model, policies, procedures, governance and oversight programs, reporting metrics, tools, and resources.
- Provide day-to-day oversight and management of the vendor management program to ensure adherence with requirements throughout the vendor lifecycle.
- Analyze the vendor lifecycle processes to determine and implement process improvements.
- Provide leadership and support for managing and meeting regulatory obligations applicable to benefit administrators, insurance companies and financial institutions.
- Actively engage and lead working groups among Business Stakeholders, Vendor Risk Management Teams, Engagement Managers, Compliance, Legal and Technology teams to create synergies; Documents working sessions and assists with issues and risks as they arise.
- Take ownership of and continue to improve the third-party risk assessment framework to respond and adhere to new and existing regulatory guidelines and initiatives and further mature our internal risk management functions.
- Assist with the management and configuration of technology solutions and other tools to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the third-party risk management program.
- Lead and execute the decentralized procurement and vendor management risk assessment processes in coordination with other subject matter expert and business area teams.
- Lead, provide training & guidance and monitor adherence with vendor management policies, procedures, and tools.
- Contribute to improvement and execution of the operating model, policies, procedures, governance and oversight programs, tools, and resources.
- Other duties as needed/assigned.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in vendor management, IT, business operations, process improvement or related disciplines, with proven ability execute cross function/division project implementations and/or new policies and standards into an existing organization.
- Has a deep understanding of best processes & practices for vendor management programs, including assessing and evaluating third party risk.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (primarily Access, SharePoint & Excel) and experience with using relational databases/tools.
- Healthcare for Financial services experience; risk & regulatory related experience
- Strong leadership skills demonstrated record of achieving goals. Confident ability to drive tasks through to completion.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Results oriented ownership mentality.
- Self-motivated, self-assured, and self-managed
- Track record of taking and promoting accountability across teams

The compensation range for this full-time Senior Manager, Procurement and Vendor Risk Management role is $70,900 - $133,129. The salary offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan.
