iLoveKickboxing is seeking a high-spirited, motivated Studio Manager to join their team. The Studio Manager is responsible for developing and ensuring execution of strategies and tactics to grow and maintain the revenue of successful cardio kickboxing fitness studio. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales, preferably membership-based sales; leading a team; managing a business from pre-opening through growth and maintenance of business; strong customer service experience and business acumen; ability to manage priorities and drive revenue to meet monthly sales quotas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales

  • Develop monthly sales goals with Owner and plan to execute to reach goals with team
  • Evaluate monthly sales goals and break down by day and shift
  • Modify daily sales goals as warranted based on activity and modify activities of staff to achieve the goals
  • Ensure all team members are aware of the goals and properly trained and have the ability and motivation to achieve the goals
  • Cold calling, canvassing, and business outreach
  • Attend required HQ sales training as well as other sales training as warranted to ensure Manager and team are skilled to reach goals
  • Provide ongoing sales training to ensure any staff that is selling has a closing rate of at least 50%

Marketing

  • Ensure that the studio has a short- and long-term marketing plan and budget that corresponds to the sales goals
  • Employ use of marketing agencies contracted by HQ and Owner to run internal and external campaigns (to increase new membership and retain existing members)
  • Manage the campaigns and ensure team is both identifying leads, following up on leads, and generating leads via gorilla marketing, community outreach, and referral programs and contests
  • Conduct B2B and community outreach
  • Identify corporate opportunities for multi-membership programs
  • Identify and schedule external events for ILKB to generate new memberships
  • Social media channels including FB, IG, You Tube, etc. are to be updated every day and have engaging content to translate to actionMonitor studio social media stats for engagement

Ensure staff understand how to obtain referrals and testimonial videos and FB live with members to share their success

  • Responsible to provide daily content to the ILKB Fan Page to drive prospects to page
  • Attend HQ sales and marketing training as well as regular coaching with marketing agency to ensure Manager and team fully understand and use systems appropriately

Hiring and Ongoing Managing of Staff

  • Place ads, canvas, and recruit in order to maintain a pipeline of potential staff to insure continuity of operations
  • Responsible for the hiring and firing as warranted of all personnel
  • Responsible for the training and development of all staff including performance management and goal setting
  • Provide staff with regularly scheduled one-on-ones
  • Responsible for ensuring a training plan is complied with for each employee and the training modified as warranted based on needs of the business and staff
  • Ensure staff are training on every shift - be it 5-10 min role-playing or working on the matts
  • Ensure trainings are videoed when requested to help for review and problem solving
  • Use Staff Meeting Template and prepared weekly staff meeting agenda and ensure meeting minutes/actions are drafted and placed in studio pertinent drive

Financial and Membership Management

  • Responsible for updating the financial tracker daily and modifying shift goals based on performance of previous shift
  • Responsible for auditing the membership paying clients weekly to ensure that the sales goals set have considered number of paying members and attrition to reach goals
  • Manage membership to have 96% retention rate (or 4% attrition rate)
  • Provide Owner with weekly update report of marketing stats, membership stats, merchandise, nutritional supps, personal training stats and adjustments to reach goals
  • Generate weekly membership reports from POS to assess milestones of members (eg, class awards, anniversaries, renewals, etc.)

Operations

  • Responsible for every aspect of the studio
  • Ensure quality control within the studio and that studio cleanliness is maintained in accordance with checklist requirements
  • Motivate staff so we hit our collective goals
  • Address crises when they arise, including who to notify and document as warranted
  • Develop and implement new or modifications to policies/procedures as warranted to ensure all aspects of business operations are systematically documented
  • Monitor HQ corporate intranet site, email and FB groups to ensure current and up-to-date on all franchise activities including trainings and promotions
  • Join and actively participate in pertinent fitness/manager Mastermind groups to have a culture of ongoing learning and growth
  • Review POS attendance to determine optimal class times and evaluate schedule for either modifications to times of classes and/or addition of other classes
  • Delegate staff to organize group outings and set up of member parties
  • Develop member surveys to implement routinely on member satisfaction, recommendations, merchandise etc.
  • Utilize appropriate systems to receive on-line reviews on FB, Google and other influential websites.
  • Fill-in shifts as needed and ensure studio is staffed properly for each shift based on stage of business and number of memberships
  • Develop and maintain pro shop and ordering of merchandise such that pro shop stocked properly at all times and merchandise is marketed according to ILKB Merchandise process document

Regular Deliverables to Owner

  • Weekly Staff meeting agenda
  • Weekly Status Report
  • Weekly review of payroll
  • Bi-weekly report on staff status

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent, preferably in health and wellness fitness industry, with demonstrated industry experience
  • Ability to effectively manage resources to achieve business objectives and motivate and lead teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and in teams
  • Proficiency with technology and POS systems
