Overview: Warehouse workers receive, put away, and pick all incoming material to the branch. They primarily unload shipments, maintain inventory, and a clean, optimally functioning warehouse. Attention to detail, accuracy of work, and commitment to safety are crucial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Reads customer, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Receives shipments by processing paperwork, checking contents, and moving materials from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas using a stockpicker, forklift, hand truck, or rolling cart
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks with a handheld scanner according to product code
• Marks materials with identifying information
• Records amounts of materials or items received and maintains inventory records
• Responsible for attending all safety training and meetings, being aware of and complying with up-to-date OSHA and company safety policy

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or GED and one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Forklift Certification (Training provided on-site)
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to understand branch and industry standards in identification, measurement, repairs, replacements, and modification of products.

TRUCK DRIVER Position Overview:

Huttig Truck Drivers promptly deliver products to its customers by operating a tractor trailer vehicle. As the first point of contact for our clients, Huttig Truck Drivers will be courteous, knowledgeable, and equipped to provide an exceptional customer experience.

Principal Responsibilities:

Operates tractor-trailer truck according to training, safety and regulatory guidelines Promptly unloads and delivers Huttig products to its customers  Maintains truck log according to company, state and federal regulations  Ensures cleanliness and routinely inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as, tires installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs  Maintains cargo and driver safety by securing positioning blocks and ropes around cargo during transit  Other duties as described by manager Role Requirements:  High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience  CDL Class A License and meet all federal and state driver’s license regulations  Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos Physical Requirements: Exceptional finger and manual dexterity required to successfully perform required tasks, including the ability to frequently lift up to 85 pounds and/or pushing 100 pounds, bend, crouch, stand, and sit for long durations. Work Environment: The work environment requires the employee to work regularly near moving mechanical parts and to be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee will operate a tractor trailer with the capacity of more than 3 tons and between 24ft and 53ft long. Occasionally, the employee is exposed to harsh outside weather conditions.
