Weekend Well Check Support Staff
Hours: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday – Sunday
Status: Full Time
Reports to: Adult Housing Supervisor & Manager
Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Adult Housing Supervisor & Adult Housing Manager, this position provides safety checks for clients with behavior issues.
Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to clients currently in permanent supportive housing, to promote residential stability.
2. Effectively explain public social services programs and assist clients with the application (if needed) and follow-up, to assure services are received.
3. Provide follow-up services that case managers may request.
4. Maintain accurate documentation of service to clients, in HMIS.
5. Must never allow individual or organizational ethical standards to be compromised.
6. Must be able to communicate effectively with persons from a variety of social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
7. Provide transportation for lower functioning clients, to ensure appointments are kept and those clients are receiving all services required to achieve their goals on their Client Centered Treatment Plan.
8. Be respectful and maintain clear boundaries with all clients and providers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of local social service agencies and programs, as they pertain to the local homeless population.
2. Knowledge of applicable statutes, ordinances, and codes.
3. Knowledge of social service work, interviewing/referral techniques.
4. Experience and understanding of homeless client issues.
5. Understand and follow complex instructions and procedures. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
6. Communicate effectively with persons from a variety of social, cultural and economic backgrounds, and possess a demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations.
7. Effective written, verbal, and listening skills. Independently initiates and responds to correspondence.
8. Ability to maintain order and exercise appropriate judgment in crisis situations.
9. Is flexible and can adjust to shifting priorities.
10. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, fellow employees, other agencies, and the general public.
11. Organize work schedule, and budget time effectively.
12. Understand and follow all agency policies and procedures.
13. General computer knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Software.
14. Ability to work flexible hours, as required by consumer case load.
Qualifications, Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. (2) Two years-experience substantially equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, or any combination of education and experience.
3. Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test. Random drug screening is performed.
4. Must have a valid NV driver’s license and clean DMV record. Driver History Reports are required to be submitted on a quarterly basis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 per year
