The Bank of Montserrat Limited (BOML) was proud to stand in solidarity with the Pink Ribbon Charity Montserrat Inc. as the main sponsor of this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, held on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

As part of the island’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness Week, the walk brought together survivors, families, and supporters from all walks of life to raise awareness and promote early detection. Bank of Montserrat staff joined the community in walking for hope, remembrance, and continued advocacy for women’s health.

The Bank’s General Manager, Josephine George, shared why the partnership was a natural fit for the institution.

“At Bank of Montserrat, community is at the heart of all we do. We know how deeply breast cancer has touched the lives of so many families in Montserrat and across the world, including our own customers, colleagues, and friends. By supporting the Pink Ribbon Charity, we honour those we’ve lost, celebrate the survivors, and inspire hope for a future of greater awareness and better health. It is a privilege to be part of this 16th anniversary walk and to walk alongside our community in hope and strength.”

In addition to sponsoring the walk, the Bank’s staff actively participated in Pink Friday on October 3, proudly wearing pink to show their support and help spread awareness across the island.

The $12,000 contribution from Bank of Montserrat covered expenses for this year’s Pink Ribbon activities, which continue to promote early screening and access to mammogram and ultrasound services for women in Montserrat.

The Bank commended the Pink Ribbon Charity for its ongoing efforts to educate the public and provide life-saving resources, including free mammogram vouchers and diagnostic support for women who need it most.

As Montserrat’s only indigenous bank, Bank of Montserrat remains committed to investing in community health and empowerment initiatives that strengthen the island’s social and economic wellbeing.
