What you need to know
A savings account is an interest bearing account and a safe holding place for money that you do not need immediate access to.
What you need to know
- Passbook account.
- Interest paid quarterly, at a rate of 2% per annum, on the minimum monthly balance.
- $1.00 minimum balance requirement.
- Free ATM card allowing withdrawals and deposits at any time.
- Five (5) free withdrawals monthly.
- No charge for account deposits.
- Free online banking access.
- Free utility bill payments.
Free reactivation of inactive accounts - No maintenance fee on savings tied to mortgages, credit card collateral savings and loan related savings plan accounts.
Requirements to open:
- Minimum opening deposit amount – XCD$50.00.
- Two valid Photo -(1) Passport and (2) Driver’s License / Social Security / National ID Card.
- Proof of residential address – Utility Bill
- Job letter – To verify income
OR if unemployed
- Two character references from Bankers, Attorney, Accountant, Merchants, or Well-known and respected BOML customer.
Important:
- Documents should not be more than three months’ old
- All letters must be addressed to The Manager, Bank of Montserrat Ltd, Brades, Montserrat
Fees
- Monthly maintenance fee $10.00
- Five (5) free monthly withdrawals and $1.00 for each withdrawal thereafter.
- Replacement Passbook – $25.00
- Early account closure fee – (within 3 months) – $30.00
- Request for account debit – $15.00 per debit
- Confirmation Letters / Bank Reference – $30.00
- Print of account statements – $5 per sheet
