Custodian Job at Coryell County
Summary of Responsibilities:
The purpose of this position is to perform housekeeping and grounds care duties for the facilities of the County.
Essential Responsibilities and Functions:
- Perform housekeeping duties by sweeping, mopping, buffing and vacuuming floors, dusting, polishing, cleaning ceiling fixtures, furniture and emptying trash bins
- Disinfect, maintain and stock restrooms with needed supplies
- Clean/sanitize walls, blinds, handrails and doors
- Demonstrate proper cleaning techniques while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Clean/sanitize surfaces with the use of an ultra-low volume fogger when and where necessary
- Clean/sanitize any location in the county where courts may be operating
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy with the public and other County departments.
- Ability to follow safe work practices including workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to use building cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver's License
