Where You’ll Work & The Scope:
Vishay Electro Films is currently seeking a Process Engineer responsible for supporting wet etch and plating. We’re looking for a highly motivated and detail oriented experienced professional to serve as a dedicated contributor to our engineering department.
How You’ll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech:
The primary responsibility for the Process Engineer is to sustain and support processes and operations for wet etching, plating, & via fill areas:
- Wet etch processes cover variety of etches for metals and oxide
- Routine plating operations for electrolytic plating of Cu, Ni, & Au
- Specialty plating operation for immersion Sn plating
- Routine plating operations for electrolytic plating of Au Filled Vias
Performs other job duties to include:
- Writing, maintaining and conducting training for process instructions
- Creating, evaluating and maintaining all statistical process control systems/charts and data collection systems/logs as required
- Evaluating data and identifying opportunities for product yield or general improvements
- Troubleshooting and implementing solutions for any problems with processes and/or individual parts
- Developing new process capabilities or use of new materials as required
- Training operators to perform required activities to perform all required bath maintenance for plating baths, monitors these plating bath maintenance activities
- Coordinating out-of-house sampling programs including monitoring of all results
- Performing all purchasing for required plating bath changes and physically performing all required activities for bath changes on the plating baths
- Performing routine plating bath maintenance at the Via Fill tank and performing all activities for bath changes as required
Experience You’ll Need:
- Working experience in a hands-on engineering role
- Willingness to learn to run all processes and all equipment to provide background necessary for being able to train other personnel, resolve problems, and develop new capabilities.
- 5-7 years minimum related experience
- Education – B.S. in Engineering or Applied Science; education in chemistry preferred
- Experience with SPC, MSA, 8D, 5S, Lean, 6 Sigma, MiniTab, Jmp, or FMEA topics a plus
